Southside Electric Cooperative will hold its Annual Membership Meeting in late September but with certain limitations due to continuing concerns and uncertainty related to COVID-19.

Planned Outage on July 17, 2021

Southside Electric Cooperative will have a planned power outage on Saturday, July 17, to repair a damaged crossarm located on part of our transmission line.  The damaged crossarm is located in Dinwiddie County, and the planned outage will affect members served off the Lake Chesdin substation and all members served by the Gill substation. All members involved are being notified via telephone.

Upgrade to the Cooperative’s internet system

SEC Members: SEC’s IT department will be making upgrades to the Cooperative’s internet system tonight, Friday, May 7th from 8 pm– 12 midnight. The outage is necessary in order to perform the upgrade to a new, larger internet service. During this designated time, you will not be able to access our member payment system, outage Viewer and Smarthub.

CenturyLink extensive outage affecting SEC 800 number

CenturyLink has reported an extensive outage due to a cut line in North Carolina that is affecting phone service to a large part of the east coast and has rendered our 800-number unavailable. However, you can reach SEC by calling 434-309-2700.

mutual-aid and contract crews to restore power outages after two winter storms brought a deluge
of ice to the cooperative’s 18 county service territory.
