SEC wants to ensure that eligible members are aware that the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) offers assistance with paying energy bills. In order to qualify for this benefit program, members must be a resident of the state of Virginia and must require financial assistance for home energy costs.
VDSS Energy Assistance (EA)
The purpose of this program is to help eligible low-income households offset expenses associated with heating and/or cooling their home:
- Fuel Assistance — Offsets Heating Fuel Costs
- Crisis Assistance — Applies to Heating Emergencies
- Cooling Assistance — Applies to Cooling Utility Bills & Equipment
- Weatherization Assistance — Applies to Energy efficiency & Air Filtration

Applications will be accepted from Oct. 11, 2016, until Nov. 11, 2016.
